One problem with the English Translations of the Holy Scriptures is that they can lead people into dire deceit, particularly if one does not check that the scriptures have been correctly translated from the original Hebrew text.
Take an example. We are like Elohim (God) because we were created in his image, yes? Well not really, if we are to go by the Scriptures in the English Language. You see when Eve was tempted to eat the forbidden fruit, Satan said, “… You will not surely die. For Elohim knows that in the day you eat of it, your eyes will be opened, and you will be like Elohim, knowing good and evil (Genesis 3:4-5)”. Eventually after Adam and Eve ate of the fruit, the scripture reads “Then Yahweh Elohim said, See, the man has become like ONE OF US, to know good and evil … (Gen 3:22). So, if we accept the English translations as is, then the Devil was correct in what he originally said, because it happened, didn’t it?
Therefore, it is absolutely correct to say that we are like Elohim because Adam and Eve disobeyed instructions and ate the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Right?
If this is so, then why did Yahweh punish the three and us their descendants up to this day? Why was the man chased out of the Garden of Eden? It does not add up does it? In fact there is something drastically wrong with the scriptures as it stands in the English language.
The answer is simple, but requires wisdom. The English Translators translated just one Hebrew word in the text wrongly, to read “ONE OF US” in spite of the fact the same word, (spelt, mem, mem, nun, vav roughly mmnu) which means, “from him”, and used as such in Gen 2:17, Gen 3:3, 3.5 and 3:11; whilst only in Gen 3:22, for unknown reason, it was translated “from us”, hence what we read in the English Bibles.
